You can easily import your existing templates by copying and pasting them into the template library. Dentascribe will turn them into structured templates that can be used for regular clickable notes, or combined with a transcript to generate a audio notes.
This makes migrating from your old note-taking system super easy.
Creating your own templates is great if youâre a specialist with unique needs. However, for general dentists, itâs recommended to start with Dentascribeâs pre-built templates, and tweak them, rather than create templates from scratch. Theyâre optimised for the ideal balance of conciseness and detail and work best with Dentascribeâs predictive AI, so youâll get high-quality notes with minimal editing.
1. Open the Template Library
Go to Template library â Notes. Here youâll find all of Dentascribeâs pre-built templates and any templates youâve imported.
2. Create a new template
- Click Import template
- Give your template a name
- Copy and paste your template into the text box and click Import template.
Dentascribe will process your provided template and create a structured template.
3. Review and refine your template
After Dentascribe has created your template, you can preview it to make sure itâs how you expected.
If you want to make further changes, use the editing sidebar to describe changes in plain English (e.g., âShorten the diet history sectionâ, âRemove the OH lineâ).
Click Keep changes to confirm the changes youâve made.
Using your template
Unlike snippets, you can open templates as regular clickable notes, or use it with a transcript to generate an audio note.
Next steps
As mentioned above, if youâre a GDP, itâs usually better to start with Dentascribeâs pre-built templates, and tweak them, rather than creating templates from scratch. Weâd recommend reading our guide on editing the pre-built templates.
