Smart dictation lets you write notes using your voice. It’s perfect for writing long, unique discussions. Unlike Audio Notes, you don’t need to record your whole appointment. You can dictate specific parts of your note, right when you need to.
Using Smart Dictation is simple and doesn’t require any changes to the way you work.
1. Start With Your Note
Smart dictation works with any note, whether you’ve opened a regular clickable note or an audio note.
2. Press Space to Start Dictating
On any line in your template, press Space on your keyboard. Your browser may ask for microphone permission the first time.
The dictation will appear in real-time as you speak. As you speak, Dentascribe will automatically tidy up and structure the text, making it professional, error-free, and easy to read.
3. Accept the Text
After you’ve finished dictating, click the Accept button. The text will be added to your note, and you can edit it just like any other text.
How It Works
Smart Dictation is more than just speech-to-text. It uses AI to enhance your dictation:
- Automatic Formatting: The AI adds punctuation and structures your sentences for clarity.
- Context-Aware: It understands clinical language to ensure the output is professional and dental-specific.
- Tidies as you go: It corrects minor errors and refines your speech into well-written prose.
