Get Started

Get started with Dentascribe in minutes. Open a new appointment, choose a template note, and paste your finished note into your practice system.

Dentascribe is a web-based platform that runs entirely in your browser, designed to work seamlessly with your existing practice management system. You can get started in minutes. No downloads or installation required.

1. Enter your encryption key

Open app.dentascribe.uk in your browser. On first open, you’ll be asked to enter your encryption key. Your encryption key was created during signup. If you’ve forgotten your encryption key, you can reset it in Settings > Reset encryption key.

2. Create a new appointment and choose a template

From the dashboard, create a new appointment.

Pick one of our pre-built templates that matches your appointment. Click “Open” to load it in the editor.

3. Fill in the note

Work through the template by clicking through clinical options. If none of the options are suitable, you can freely type anywhere, like a normal text document.

Dentascribe automatically saves your progress as you go, so you don’t have to worry about losing your note, and it works even if you don’t have an internet connection.

4. Copy and paste into your practice system

When your note is complete, click the “Copy” button. You’ll see a preview of your note. Notice that unfilled lines are automatically removed, keeping your note clean and professional.

Paste the note straight into your own practice management system. Make any final adjustments if needed, and save the record as you normally would. Dentascribe is designed to work with all dental software systems, including Software of Excellence, Dentally, R4, and more.
