Dentascribe is fully GDPR compliant and is committed to the security and confidentially of your patients' data. We don't ever store your audio or transcriptions.
Is recording patients allowed?
We always recommend obtaining explicit, informed consent from the patient before recording. Verbal consent is adequate. Patients have the right to withdraw consent and stop recording at any point.

Data Privacy
Your audio data is never stored.
Your live appointment transcriptions are never stored.
Synced notes have zero-knowledge encryption, meaning they are encrypted before they ever leave your device and Dentascribe personnel can't read them even if they wanted to. (we don't want to read them)
We can't leak personal data if we don't store it :)
Encryption
A separate encryption password, used as a second layer of protection, is mandatory for all logged in users. Users must re-enter their encryption password after a period of inactivity.
Forces HTTPS connections to our website to ensure secure connections. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
Secure AI Processing
We use third-party processors to run our AI infrastructure. Visit our GDPR page to learn about our third-party processors.
All of our third-party data processors have been selected based on enterprise-grade security practices.
By using third party infrastructure, we benefit from the significant security standards of our third-party processors such ISO 27001 and SOC II type 2 compliance.
We have signed Data Processing Agreements with all of our processors.
Zero Data Retention
Dentascribe personnel never read your audio or transcriptions.
Audio is never stored. Your audio is permanently destroyed the moment it has been transcribed.
Transcriptions are never stored by Dentascribe. Your transcriptions are only ever stored on-device (in your browser) and can be deleted from your device at any time.
We have zero data retention agreements with all of our processors handling your audio and transcripts.
Organisational Security
We are registered with the ICO and have a data protection officer.
We regularly audit access to internal systems.
We implement strong password and multi-factor authentication internal policies for personnel with access to internal systems. All passwords are stored securely in an organisation password manager.
You Have Full Control
All personal data processing is strictly opt-in. If you do not sync your notes or use live appointment recording features, we do not need to process patient data.
You can pause and resume recording at any time.
On-device saved notes are automatically deleted after a set period of time. You can change this in the settings.
